  Dr. Russell Welch

Apostolic Teacher, Shepherd, Watchman, and Voice to the Holy Remnant

Dr. Russell Welch is a living testimony of the rescuing power of Jesus Christ, the restoring fire of Holy Spirit, and the unrelenting love of the Father. His life did not begin in ease, comfort, or religious polish. It began in the wreckage of brokenness, instability, rejection, abandonment, addiction, and years of spiritual captivity.

From the ages of three to six, during the tender years when a child should be covered, nurtured, and protected, Russell was moved from state home to state home after the collapse of his family. Those early years became a battlefield where rejection, abandonment, and the lie of being discarded attempted to take root. Yet what hell marked for destruction, Heaven had already marked for redemption.

For nearly thirty years, Russell lived on the wrong side of the law, moving through county jails, seasons of addiction, cycles of bondage, and even a period in state prison. His life carried the bruises of trauma, rebellion, broken identity, and spiritual captivity. 

Even after entering marriage and ministry, some of those prisons remained hidden beneath the surface, wrapped in religious language but still untouched by the deeper revelation of sonship and freedom in Christ.

Yet even before Russell fully understood the call of God upon his life, the Lord was preparing him for assignment. From the age of ten, he became a student of history, especially military battles, strategy, campaigns, and the movements of armies. What appeared to be a childhood fascination with warfare was, in hindsight, preparation for a future assignment to discern conflict, recognize spiritual patterns, understand strategy, and teach the Body of Christ how to stand in spiritual warfare.

In 2007, Dr. Welch was baptized by his spiritual father, the late Dr. Don Lynch. Before he was submerged beneath the waters, Dr. Don prophesied that when Russell came up, he would receive an impartation from Heaven, a deep hunger and thirst for the Word of God and for His Kingdom. That word proved true, and a holy fire was ignited that would mark the rest of his life.

In 2008, Dr. Welch began writing books and biblical commentaries. Since then, he has spent thousands of hours studying the Old Testament, the New Testament, Church history, the writings of the early Church fathers, spiritual warfare, Kingdom theology, identity, deliverance, discipleship, and the life of the Ecclesia.

Then, in 2016, everything changed.

Through a radical and life-transforming encounter with the Lord, Dr. Welch came into direct contact with the love, holiness, authority, and delivering power of Jesus Christ in a way that shattered places where religion, false identity, rejection, shame, addiction, and spiritual captivity had held him. That encounter did not merely improve his life. It changed the foundation from which he lived and ministered.

The Lord began by liberating Russell from himself, from the need to perform, from the need to prove, from religious striving, hidden shame, rejection, and identities formed in pain. Then, layer by layer, the Lord began opening prison doors that had remained closed for decades, including areas of bondage that had survived even through the first fifteen years of ministry.

That is why Dr. Welch does not speak about freedom as theory. He has lived inside the prison, felt the weight of addiction, and known what it is to love God while still discovering places within his life that had not yet become free. 

He also knows what it is for Jesus Christ to enter those places and begin breaking chains that had held him for nearly forty-five years.

In this present season, the Lord has been bringing Dr. Welch back to what may be the strongest arrow in his quiver: the testimony of what Jesus Christ has actually done in his life.

Revelation 12:11 declares that the people of God overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. Dr. Welch has come to understand that his testimony is not merely the history of where he has been. In the hands of the King, that testimony becomes a weapon against the very prisons that once attempted to destroy him.

For years, Dr. Welch believed some of the greatest weapons the Lord had placed in his hands were the things he had studied, written, taught, and built. Yet the Lord has been drawing him back to something even more foundational. None of his books, teachings, commentaries, sermons, or training materials would carry their true weight of authority apart from the work Jesus first accomplished within him.

Before the Lord used him to speak about freedom, He began bringing freedom into him. Before the Lord used him to confront prisons in others, He began opening the prison doors within Russell’s own life. Before he could carry a message of deliverance with authority, he first had to encounter the Deliverer.

That testimony is now becoming increasingly central to his assignment.

Dr. Welch carries a deep burden for those trapped in addiction, shame, bondage, rejection, relapse, hidden captivity, and the quiet prisons that can exist even within the Church. He carries particular compassion for those who have prayed, tried, failed, relapsed, repented, and wondered whether genuine freedom is still possible.

His life answers that question with a resounding declaration that Jesus Christ still sets captives free.

Dr. Welch believes the Lord is bringing his testimony back to the forefront not so attention will rest upon the darkness of his past, but so the delivering power of Christ will be seen more clearly. The story is not ultimately about addiction; it is about the One who broke its authority. The story is not ultimately about prison; it is about the King who entered the prison and opened the door.

When Dr. Welch speaks to those bound in addiction, he does not speak as an observer standing outside the cell. He speaks as a man who knows what the inside of the prison feels like, but who also knows the sound of chains falling and the door opening.

He believes the Lord will increasingly use that testimony to help unlock prison doors in the lives of others, whether in churches, recovery gatherings, conferences, prisons, homes, small groups, podcasts, or wherever the Father opens a door. His desire is not simply to tell people that freedom exists, but to bear witness that Jesus Christ is still the Deliverer and that no captivity is beyond His reach.

Today, Dr. Russell Welch stands as an author, apostolic teacher, shepherd, watchman, and voice carrying a present-day message to the Holy Remnant of the Lord. His life declares that no pit is too deep, no prison too strong, no addiction too binding, no religious system too powerful, and no broken history too ruined for the King to redeem.

As the founder and leader of Remnant Warrior Ministries and an Apostolic Teacher at Highway to Heaven Church, Dr. Welch carries a mandate to awaken, equip, and mobilize believers for the advancing Kingdom of God. His message is marked by biblical conviction, prophetic clarity, apostolic fire, radical discipleship, spiritual warfare, and a deep burden to see the Ecclesia restored to the Gospel Jesus actually preached, the Gospel of the Kingdom.

His books, teachings, and training materials are designed to do more than inform. They are intended to confront deception, awaken identity, strengthen the wounded, expose strongholds, equip believers, and commission people into their Kingdom assignment.

His life stands as a declaration over them that their story is not over, their identity is not their trauma, their addiction is not their destiny, their prison does not get the final word, and their future is still alive in Christ.

Dr. Russell Welch resides in Jacksonville, Florida, with his beloved wife, Emelie. Together, they continue to build, teach, shepherd, and contend for the rise of a holy, healed, delivered, and Spirit-governed Remnant.

Emelie “Millette” Welch carries a mantle of prophetic intercession, healing, and Kingdom compassion that has been evident since her earliest days in the Philippines. Raised in a Spirit-filled home and marked by the presence of God from childhood, her life has been shaped by intimacy with Jesus, obedience to His voice, and a deep burden for the broken, wounded, and forgotten.

After earning her degree in accounting, Emelie moved to Hong Kong, where she served for thirteen years with an international missions organization. Her assignment extended far beyond administration. She ministered across borders, cultures, and nations, releasing healing, deliverance, prophetic encouragement, and the love of Christ to the hurting and the hungry.

Whether in worship, prayer, teaching, or personal ministry, Emelie carried the fragrance of Heaven and the fire of restoration. Those who encountered her ministry often experienced more than encouragement; they encountered the nearness of Jesus, the tenderness of the Father, and the healing touch of Holy Spirit.

In her local church, Emelie served faithfully on the worship team and as a teacher, but her deepest calling emerged in the hidden place of prayer. There, Holy Spirit formed her as a prophetic intercessor who could discern atmospheres, recognize spiritual resistance, and pray with authority until breakthrough came.

She carries the gift of healing with humility and compassion. Her ministry is marked by the heart of Jesus toward the wounded, the afflicted, the oppressed, and those carrying deep inner pain. Through prayer, prophetic insight, and Spirit-led ministry, she has seen the Lord restore hope, touch bodies, heal hearts, and awaken identity in those who had grown weary in the battle.

Her prayers shift destinies. Her worship opens atmospheres. Her compassion restores hope. Her prophetic sensitivity brings light into hidden places where fear, grief, trauma, and oppression have tried to remain concealed.

A divine encounter with students from the Brownsville Revival School of Ministry ignited a holy hunger in Emelie’s spirit. Though the path before her seemed impossible, the Lord spoke a life-altering word to her: “I will not take you over the mountain — I will make a way through it.”

In 2001, God fulfilled that word, bringing her to Pensacola, Florida, for a season of deep refinement, prophetic training, revival fire, and supernatural equipping. At B.R.S.M., the hunger that had been burning within her found language, impartation, and deeper formation. The Lord used that season to sharpen her prophetic sensitivity, deepen her consecration, and prepare her for the Kingdom assignment that was still unfolding.

During her second year at B.R.S.M., Emelie met Russell Welch, a fellow revival carrier and apostolic reformer. Their union in 2003 became more than a marriage; it became a divine covenant partnership marked by healing, prophetic worship, spiritual warfare, and Kingdom advancement.

Together, they have ministered across regions, raised up warriors, restored the broken, strengthened the weary, and released the sound of awakening. Their lives carry a shared burden to see the Ecclesia healed, equipped, delivered, and restored to the government of Holy Spirit.

Emelie’s ministry alongside her husband is not secondary; it is vital. She carries a unique grace that strengthens the house, covers the assignment, discerns the unseen battles, and releases healing into the places where warfare has left wounds.

Today, Emelie serves alongside her husband within Remnant Warrior Ministries and Highway to Heaven Church as a prophetic intercessor, healing minister, worshipper, teacher, and spiritual mother. She carries a deep burden for the nations, a fierce love for the broken, and a healing anointing that restores hearts, bodies, and identities.

Her life is a testimony of what happens when obedience meets fire, when compassion is clothed in Kingdom authority, and when a daughter of God refuses to be moved by fear, resistance, or the powers of darkness.

Emelie “Millette” Welch is not simply a missionary or intercessor. She is a revivalist, a prophetic healing vessel, a warrior for the nations, and a daughter of the King whose life continues to release restoration, identity, healing, and breakthrough wherever the Lord sends her.

When she prays, Heaven leans in.
When she worships, atmospheres shift.

When she ministers, the wounded encounter the heart of Jesus.
And when she stands in the gap, hell is reminded that another daughter of the King has taken her place on the wall.
