Year One: Foundation of Beloved Identity

Year One

Year One immerses each disciple in the life-giving reality of divine adoption, resurrection power, and son-and-daughter inheritance. Grounded in Ephesians 2:6 and Romans 6:4–5, students discover that they are chosen, crucified with Christ, and raised to walk in newness of life.

This season shatters orphan mindsets and invites learners into the Father’s perpetual embrace, empowering them to operate from identity rather than performance (Galatians 4:6–7). Through meditative scripture study and heart-focused teaching, every truth is internalized as an unshakable foundation for all future assignments. By anchoring in these foundational realities, warriors build spiritual stability that undergirds every battle ahead.

The curriculum unfolds in three progressive sections that move from personal revelation to corporate kingdom culture. In the first section, learners engage intimate meditations on being chosen and seated with Christ (Ephesians 1:4–6) and learn to wield resurrection life as their operative reality. The second section unpacks apostolic foundations by exploring the synergy of Word and Spirit, the fivefold ministry pattern (Ephesians 4:11–13), and the covenantal commission to make disciples. In the final section, disciples practice restoring ancient house-church rhythms (Acts 2:42–47) and cultivate environments of honor and healing (Romans 12:10; 1 Peter 2:9).

This journey equips each warrior to reflect God’s glory and multiply spiritually mature sons and daughters.

Every lesson guide weaves rich teaching paragraphs with Scripture-driven activation steps, personal reflection prompts, and communal practice exercises. Students journal prophetic declarations over their identity, lead honor circles in small groups, and design family altars that reinforce their in-Christ position. Guided debriefs and peer-coaching triads foster deep relational discipleship and emotional wholeness (2 Timothy 2:2). By the end of Year One, each warrior stands firmly rooted in the Father’s love, prepared to escalate into strategic warfare and apostolic impact. This foundational transformation ignites ripple effects across families, communities, and the nations

Entering the fiery Furnace of transformation

Training the Next Generation of Fire-Brand Mountain Moving Disciples

Welcome to Year One of Warrior’s Discipleship School.

Over the span of more than thirty years, Dr. Russ Welch has navigated the front lines of spiritual warfare, laying bare the unseen battles that shape every believer’s journey.  His ministry has been forged in the crucible of night-long vigils, fervent intercession, and the Holy Spirit’s transforming disciplines.  As Paul reminds us, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness” (Ephesians 6:12, ESV).  In these trenches Dr. Welch has learned that genuine faith demands both courageous confrontation of spiritual foes and humble surrender to God’s refining work.

Central to this wisdom is the principle that whatever is not surrendered at the cross becomes a foothold for the enemy’s schemes.  The Apostle Paul declares, “We know that our old self was crucified with him … so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin” (Romans 6:6–7, ESV).  When believers fail to reckon sin and self-will as dead at Calvary, those same uncrucified passions can distract them from their divine destiny or even rob them of it.  Dr. Welch’s experience underscores that authentic discipleship begins in the willing relinquishment of every claim of the flesh, inviting the Spirit to execute a holy surgery on our innermost affections.

Life truly begins on the far side of the cross, where the Spirit ushers us into resurrection power and the garments of sonship.  Isaiah foresaw this when he prophesied, “He has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness” (Isaiah 61:10, ESV).  In that moment of re-clothing, the believer exchanges the tattered vestments of guilt and performance for the seamless robe of Christ’s own righteousness.  The Holy Spirit then becomes both our Comforter and our Advocate, confirming our adoption as sons and daughters of the Father (Romans 8:15, ESV).

It is from this vantage—crucified with Christ yet alive in Him—that the lessons of this work flow.  Dr. Welch invites readers to confront the remnants of the old nature with the same boldness he has exercised in prayer rooms and battlefields of the spirit.

As we learn to leave every burden at Calvary’s foot, we walk forward into the fullness of our inheritance, empowered to fulfill the destiny for which we were bought at a price.  May these pages serve as both compass and catalyst, guiding every soul into the triumph of crucifixion, resurrection, and righteous sonship.

Each lesson is a weapon. Each journal entry is a seed. Each activation is a doorway into deeper surrender. You will be challenged, refined, and awakened—not just to lead, but to love. Not just to minister, but to abide. Not just to build, but to become.

This year is about becoming a Wholehearted Warrior—a disciple who moves mountains not by force, but by faith. A leader who multiplies healing, not performance. A son or daughter who finishes well, not just starts strong.

Let the healing begin.

Let the training commence.

Let the fire fall.

Welcome to Year One. The Cross is your compass. The Word is your sword. The Spirit is your guide. Let’s build from wholeness.
